Tony DiPofi - Lead & Backing Vocals, Harp

Tony was born and raised in an Italian neighborhood in Chicago where everyone was family. He cut his teeth on a mix of Italian singers like Vic Damone and Louis Prima, but was heavily influenced by Chicago Blues Singers and various harp players, like Tony "little sun" Glover and Magic Dick. You can also hear the influences of Tom Waits and Don Van Vliet.

The result is the fusion of styles he has now made his own, both in his singing and his blues harp playing. His talent is anchored in his versatility. His ability and wide range of vocal styles allows him to do anything from old standards to blues/rock.

Tony is also an accomplished lyricist and original song writer who enjoys creating just as much as performing. First playing in Chicago with The Paul Jones Blues Band, he now resides in Wisconsin, where he has played with Night Train, and has currently found a home with The Raindogs and Electric Blue.

This is one of my all-time favorite songs from Tony. It's everything that a Blues song should be, and should be considered a Blues Standard.

Putting aside all religious overtones, I believe that Father Flanagan would still appreciate the mention of one of his congregation members, Juanita. She has the amazing talent of lighting all the candles with one match.

I still recall hearing this song for the first time, in my car, while taking a sip of morning coffee. Hearing the lyrics, "I'm going to hell in a hurry, baby, Church is out", I almost spit out my drink.

Tony has the talent to write vivid lyrics that paint long-lasting images in your mind.

As one other reviewer mentioned, if none of his songs get picked up (licensed), then apparently no one is listening!
