Dear Minister Glenda. Thank you for your coments and generous review of our song "Melias Christmas" I think the scratchy stuff inbetween verses is my brother Johns classical guitar. The noises are considered an integral part of the sound of a classical guitar. We'll work on it.
Respectfully!

Dear Kathy Myers, Thanks for your review of my song "Six Pack" I made it up on a whim for a 6 pack contest on Broadjam a couple of years ago, using parts of the melody of an old song "This Old Man". Thanks again!

I figured something like that - can be fun to do that.

to "THE N.DUSTRY". Dear Sirs, Thank you for your generous review and coments of our song "When I". To reciprocate and in much appreciation of your time, I gave you the perfect score on your review, which is a part of the gesture of good will towards fellow musicians. Thanks again!

Dear John Renaud. Thanks for your review of my song FEAR. It was my first submission when I became a member of broadjam, and sent on a lark. I composed it about 13 years ago and was mostly proud of my concept with the lyrics. The entity FEAR takes on human form to send a message to mankind. It does need work and one day I will get it done. My brother John Hansen and I have about 40 songs we are curently working on so having extra time is rare. We feel fortunate & frustrated. Thanks again

Pete, Thank you for the review of Autumn Afternoo, from my Castle of Dreams Acoustic Solo Piano CD. As a self taught musician I have always enjoyed playing the piano from the point of creating my own music. Thanks again

Greetings Pete-

Thank you for your kind review. To answer your question, those were all samples (not a synthesizer). All of them act as plug-ins in my recording application, pro-tools.

I use a dual quad Pc, (not mac) with 24 gigs of ram. pro-tools is my studio platform for arranging and recording. I do all the arranging in pro-tools, which will produce a score from a midi arrangement, or a midi arrangement from a score.

I use the symphonic cube (sample library) on a mac and it is dedicated only to running the cube. It is clocked when recording to my other machine for recording, and mixing with other sample libraries. I also use East/West products and I am a huge fan of "Play" ( their sample engine which acts as a plug-in). "Chris Heins Horns" is great too. Sonokinetic and several others.

But in some composition productions I use hybrid recording. This is a mix of Live instruments and samples. I frequently use college students as it is more expensive to hire card carrying union members for session recording. My song "TEARS" is such an example.

Here are a few links to check out sample libraries that will fit any budget:

http://www.soundsonline.com/ 1

http://www.vsl.co.at/en/65/71/84/1349.vsl 2

http://www.bestservice.de/ 3

http://www.sonokinetic.net/ 4

Be forewarned that some of them have heavy systems requirements.

If you are using a keyboard workstation, I encourage you to change that and evolve. There are a myriad of great products out there and they totally surpass anything a Korg Oasis could do(best all in one keyboard I know of). At this point the only thing Korgs totally kick ass for are midi interface keyboards. Their weighted keyboards still have great action. (I use a Triton Pro-x as my main controller). However sample based audio is higher quality, cheaper, more accessible and the current industry standard.

Hope this helps. please feal free to shoot me a line if you have qurstions.

-Benjamin

Dear Robert Wuagneux, Thanks for your time, review and coments of my song "Run Away With Me Now". As always, a review helps me fine tune the elements that make a song more complete and marketable. Good luck with all your musical efforts!

Dear Members of Parias Day,
Thanks for your review of my song "FEAR". Your time & coments are always appreciated. I like your philosophy about being true to yourself. It's always a large part of my philosophy as well. We seem to live in a copy cat world full of followers rather than leaders. Finding our own paths is what makes life worth living. Lead with convicition and the masses will follow.

Hey man! For real, that's what we're about!
Loving your style man--you've got a lot going for you--we're excited about real musicians who are interested in giving something fresh and new to the world; not cookie-cutter impressions they think will sell to people. Keep it up, love to hear more from you!
