Hi, Catsters!

It's geek time! Do you enjoy mixing and mastering? You've probably seen Waves plug-ins, right? It's easy to go crazy on them but there are some I really like, such as CLA guitars, drums, and bass. You can't go wrong with Renaissance's plug-ins, and the L2 Maximizer limiter is an easy to use limiter.

Besides watching the videos, how do you know what to buy? I have a link to all their pdf manuals, a great way to figure out if a plug-in is for you!

Hi John,
Thanks for the stars for We Can Be Lovers Again - why do I have such long titles?!! - I'm very grateful. Julia is an excellent singer and it was a real treat when she agreed to sing this with me. I also provided backings for several of her songs over recent years and we worked very well together.
I'm on the mend now, just have to stop coughing long enough to play guitar!!

Hi, Bob. I went to your website (https://www.bobbentleymusic.com/) and your Facebook page and was intrigued by your musical history and noticed that song. Working with Julia certainly had to be an honor as well as a thrill, much as I was surprised and thrilled to have Jeana Potthoff play on "Sunny Sunday." I have three of your tunes in my collection which I often play. I still find myself wondering how i was honored enough to be in a group of who I consider to be the greatest songwriters on BJ, as well as the friendliest. I still have hopes that our group will put together a small set of songs. We have a lot going on in the meantime. I'm still going through a lot of discomfort with the extracted tooth and that keeps me from doing things. You have more songs I would like to listen to. The melody is a very big part of a song to me and you really know how to come up with very moving and unique melodies. John

You flatter as always John!
I think it will never be easy to come up with a group song when we have all written and/or composed our own complete songs in our own projects. It will be chance whether one of us presents either a lyric or a melody to the group in hope of advice or inspiration. It'll come or it won't, but it's great being able to help each other out from time to time.

John,
Very appreciative of your review of "Same Old". Based on some personal experience. I am a tired old everyman by the way. Well, not really tired but most definitely old. My formal training was in jazz, voice, guitar and composition, so I tend not to follow the current rules of song writing. Glad you enjoyed my effort. Thanks again,

Bill

I certainly understand. But you reach an age where you've advanced enough with experiences that you don't need all the rules. Your efforts are terrific to listen to. I've been recovering from a tooth extraction the last couple of weeks so I'm hoping I'll be back on track this next week.

Hi John,
Thanks for another stellar and helpful review of our son "Back on Track" ! As always, your review is thoughtful, insightful, comprehensive and very helpful. And I really like your "personal takes" on the topic that you weave throughout your reviews.

I love, Love, LOVE your lyric idea for the second stanza/chorus!! Kudos on a perfect evolution of the message! I'm going to pass that on to my wife and I'm sure that she'll appreciate the depth and consideration of your review.

THANK YOU so much for the time and attention you put unto your reviews. You get 5 star reviewer-ratings from me for sure!

I'm honored, Frank! If those are words your wife would use, she can certainly call them her own and to rearrange and change in any way to fit what she would like to say. I can tell she comes up with imaginative ways to put a story together; she's a terrific lyricist. I'm impressed with the intonations, emphasis, and emotion she puts into her vocals without sounding too polished (I think the polished commercial sound takes away from the sincerity)...true professionalism. You're a great songwriting team!
John

Thanks for the kind words John. I'll pass them onto Jane.

We are so very grateful to be able to do what we do and have what we have. Getting positive feedback from talented individuals like you just top it all off!

Be well and have a great weekend!

Frank
