I have a question for you: do you like to mix and master your own songs? I see you listed as the producer. They are done incredibly well.
I love mixing and mastering my own songs! These two happen to be mixed by my mentor, Phil Allen, but Tainted Souls and Blood and Bone were both mixed by me.
I've been slowly teaching myself how to mix and master. I still consider myself a beginner at it. It's a great deal of fun! "Tainted Souls" and "Blood and Bone" are nothing short of professional! Another one who does her own mixing and mastering is Jenny McGregor. She's way ahead of me and I really admire what she does with it. Not many songwriters on here have taken the time to try it. Your instrumentation and vocals are spot on, too. I wish I had that kind of coordination. Phil did a wonderful job on your others. But aside from all that, I place by far the biggest importance on the melody and lyrics...in that order just because I'm a melody person. But the words have to fit the mood of the music. You're terrific at both. I'm glad to know you've been trying your hand at mixing and mastering, too!
Hi Jess. Just wanted to say well done on a great song in "Where We Are"...I really enjoyed listening. It has shades of Sarah McLachlan at points but love the contrast between low and calm, and then the more empassioned chorus! Robert Quigley
