I sang this in church in a full choir and had my producer make into a solo for me.It of tells a story of a man who knows what is coming and would like to have this cup pass him by...but also knows that will not happen...he has a destiny ordained for him.
Christ praying in the Garden of Gethsemane
One quiet night in Gethsemane,
The friends of Christ were in peaceful sleep,
And in the distance all alone
calls out the Lord Gods only Son
While on his knees, he laid his face,
His Holy face, on the damped earth
And with a groaning, prayerful soul
Slumbering silences echoes roll,
"O may this cup, this heavenly cup
of bitterness pass from me."
"But not my will be done O God,
Your will be done. Now I shall go"
Soon seat was dripping from his face
like drops of blood down from the cross.
An angel of heaven was Standing by,
To guard this man, soon the
Haunting introduction sets this song up for the timeless sad story of Jesus Christ, praying and sweating drops of blood in Gethsemane. The artist's pure, poignant vocal communicates the sorrow and anguish and seriousness of the situation well with a very emotion-charged performance. The production/instrumentation is beautifully done. Bravo!
