Excellent job on "I Got Nothin'," Frank. Terrific chorus that stands out laboriously and strained which really drives home the lyrics, and great full bodied guitars in the arrangement. You really know how to get a social statement across, my friend! John
Thank you so much john. In full transparency, that song was written from experience... from a pivotal point of in my life where I needed to make some "life decisions". Thanks again for listening and for your insightful perspective. Frank
Songs from true life experiences are the ones that live on and are lasting. They have the most human emotion, grit, and wisdom. Those are the songs we are grateful for and I'm glad you wrote it. John
Hi again David, Thanks for the reviews/comments on "The One" and "Sweet Dixie Bride". I appreciate you listening and providing your feedback. Thanks again! Frank
Thank you so very much for the 5-star rating on "Back On Track". I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and rate it! Have a safe and happy thanksgiving!! Frank
Your welcome my friend1 Really enjoyed it! LC Team
Hi Jeana, I hope all is well your way! Thank you so very much for the 5-star ratings on "I Got Nothin' " and "Can You See Me". I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to them and rate them! Have yourself a safe and happy thanksgiving!! Frank
Hi Frank-- You are very welcome. I always enjoy your songs. Thank you also for listening to "Tribute for Tasha" and the stars and playlist add. Always appreciated. :-) Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well. It's feeling like that time of year today in NE, isn't it! Jeana P
Indeed it is...turkey time and holiday lights/songs popping up! I'll be checking out more of your music again... it'd been too long. I always enjoy your piano compositions and playing! Frank
And again Frank. Thanks for your thoughts about My Christmas Love, valuable as always. As a guitar player I must admit the whole orchestra stuff is an experiment for me, I have no background knowledge to call on and tend to cuff it!! So any feedback is very useful. I think the strings on this were from my older Tyros keyboard, might try to update the at some point. Good comments re background singer but I was very fortunate to get Cyn for the vocals and could not run to paying for backing singers. Thanks again - and Happy Christmas!!, Bob
And thanks for the stars and playlist, very much appreciated. Bob
My pleasure Bob. I always struggle a bit with trying to be honest and helpful while recognizing the positive attributes of a song/songwriter. You've got great stuff and talent! Keep creating, sharing and having fun. Frank
Thank you.
And for the stars and playlist for Remember Last Summer. Much appreciated Frank. Bob
Hey Frank, thanks for the thorough and insightful review of my Neo-Classical composition, "Himalayan Borealis". I grew up playing in orchestras. I was a child prodigy on cello and started playing in competitions and orchestras at 8. So, I love doing classical tracks, but I love doing whatever comes to me. I woke up this morning and was still in the sleep mode.....deep....sat down to the piano and wrote an incredible 12 minute piece.....with eyes half-open....weird.... Anyway, thanks for the review and CONGRATS on winning the song competition. Best, Chet Nichols
Hi David... so glad to got another one of mine to review. You're spot on with your perspective about the piece being "Both sad and comforting..." if you check out the song description on that one, you'll see just how precise your take is! Thanks again for taking the time to listen and provide meaningful comments/perspectives. Be and stay well, Frank
You were right David... you got another one of my pieces... "Sunrise in The City". That was a piece I put together for a co-worker that was an aspiring screenplay writer back in the early 2000s. The screen play was called "Presidential Matters" and the writer (Gene Adamson) asked me to create a 2.5 to 3 minute piece of music for a specific opening scene. I actually included the segment he provided me in the song description on the song info page. Thanks for listening and commenting! Frank
Hi David, Well, you got another oner my pieces to review. "Street PI" was actually a short little ditty I put together for a licensing opportunity. Alas, it wasn't selected, but I've kept it out there. Thanks for the review and feedback. As always, I appreciate your perspectives. Frank
Hey Frank, Always a pleasure, I always find your piano part very well built and arranged. I think I just reviewed another one from you BTW
Yeah I've noticed that BJ has been cueing up quite a few of mine for you to review... which is a good thing for me! I really do appreciate your unbiased take on my stuff David. Thanks in advance, Frank
Hi Frank, We meet again! Thanks for a kind review of the instrumental version of Homesick. I agree about the category, not sure why I did that but have changed it to Unique Soundtrack. Hope you are well and having success. Thanks again, Bob
Hi Dave, Looks like BJ cued a couple of my older ones for you. Thanks for taking the time to listen and provide feedback. I always appreciate others' perspectives and contributions. Thanks again... be and stay well, Frank
Hey Frank, There were complete blind reviews ! Keep up the good work :)
Forgot to say thanks for the 5 stars on both my songs "Keep On Walkin" and "I Got Nothin". I really appreciate you taking a "spin around the block" and having a listen!! Thanks again, Frank
hey...Frank..a good tune is a good tune!!...as musicians we need to be supportive of each others work/ talents....5/5's don't come easy...and in my opinion their not supposed to! We need to be fair and honest at the same time....your tune deserved it!!!!...Keep up the great work..will be listening!!!
Thanks so much for 5the 5 Stars on my tune "Springtime". I appreciate you having a listen and giving it the rating... so glad you liked it. I'll check out some of your music soon. Be and stay well, Frank
Thank you so much for the "Composer - Film/TV Music " endorsement! Coming from you all, it's an honor and very much appreciated. Frank
Well you are welcome Frank! We really appreciate your work! LC Team
Hi Catnip Pat, I don't recall if I thanked you for your review of my "Christmas Medley"... so... Thank You! I appreciate you listening and providing comments. Be and stay well, Frank
Thanks so much for reviewing my song "It's Christmas". I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment! Be and stay well, Frank
Hi Frank, Thanks for another kind review; Remember Last Summer. If I'm absolutely honest I thought I'd taken this down, what's more I obviously didn't proof this properly as the backing vocal towards the end should not have been there!!! I reworked the vocal version recently and it's far superior but I will remix this and leave it on "just in case"........ Thanks again, Bob
Hi HAWC, Thanks so much for taking the timed to review my song "Smile Again". I appreciate the comprehensive and detailed review! Your perspectives and comments are both refreshing and useful... very nice in comparison to many others here on BJ. I'll check out some of your music soon. Thanks again for review! Be and stay well, Frank
It was my pleasure, sir. I'm anxious to not just contribute music to the community but valuable feedback that is helpful and encouraging as best I can. I just wanna do for others as I hope they would do for me.
Hi Nick, Thanks for the taking the time to listen to and review my song "Hand In Hand". Your comments/perspective were/are accurate and useful... much appreciated. I'll check some of your music soon. Thanks again... be and stay well, Frank
You too, Frank. Best of luck with your music and have a great day!
Hi Franklin! I just got around to "Never Say Never" and "Talk, Talk" Gave both 5 stars! "Talk" is my favorite Boy are you a good mixer! When I hear a song I can't improve on---it's rare!---and I am a tough critic! Your bass, I think is keyboard is s[ot on and eq'ed perfectly! If we ever got in my studio together we could be there for days if not years! Cheers! catnip=+=
Thank you so much Catnip Pat!! What a great way to start my day!! Maybe one day we can collaborate on something... be well! Frank
Hi again David, I'm happy to see that you got another one mine to review! Thanks for another useful review on my piece "Breathless". As you noted that's a short one intended more as a cue and/or for use in TV/Film/Video or Voiceover production... I recall that I wrote that one for a licensing opportunity that didn't pan out. Thanks again for listening and providing insightful comments. Be and stay well, Frank
Hi Catnip Pat, Thanks so much for the review of "When I'm With You" and for the great comments/perspective. That's an older song... and speaking of perspective I'm sad to say that Ray (who with his wife Ruth are featured in the intro/outro) passed away shortly after they were married. My wife Jane and I did a wedding/music video for them using this song and you can see it on my videos page. Thanks again for taking to the time to listen and comment! Be and stay well, Frank
Always sad to hear a fellow artist gone--but glad and thankful we got it down while they walked this Earth! You are of those artists and I enjoy your comments and music highly! Cheers! Pat
Hi David, Thanks for another great review on my piece "Rita's Journey Forward". I do appreciate you taking time to listen and to provide meaningful/useful comments/feedback. You're spot-on regarding the VST instruments used on that piece. It's an older piece that I actually composed for a Retirement Tribute that I produced many moons ago when my wife and I were doing corporate/video productions. I don't even have the original Pro Tools session for that one, so kind of difficult to replace those instruments with newer/better ones... I may just re-record it one day. But to your point regarding mastering, I should at least take that version and try to improve its levels and overall master. Quite honestly, Mastering is an area that I'm really trying to learn more about and improve on. Thanks again for the useful review! Be and stay well, Frank
Franck, regarding mastering, if you wish I can try to give it a try (I'm using Landr), just to get an idea of how it could sound once boosted a bit. In this case, just send me the wav file ;)
Hi David, Thanks for the offer. I just spent the last day looking to see if I have a wav version of that piece and unfortunately all I can find so far is the mp3 that I used to upload to Broadjam. I still have a few other places to check, so I'll get back to you. Also... I certainly don't want you to take your time on this David... time is money, and I unfortunately don't have $$ budgeted for mastering work. So absolutely no problem if you don't really have the time to mess with it... totally understandable. Frank
No problem for me, I have a Landr package with a bunch of mastering credits that expire by the end of the year and which I certainly will not use. Doesn't take much time, I would just upload the file, tweak a few things and get the master right away. If it can help you, considering all the constructive feedback you gave me, it's a cheap price to pay ;)
Hi Frank, Thanks for the review, 5's and playlist add for "Papa Don't Mind". Appreciate your support. In the process of doin' some lyric changes to clear up some miss-interpretations. These songs are never done.... Bill
Hi David, Thanks for the review and comments/feedback on my piece "Angela's Haunting". I appreciate you taking the time to listen and to provide your perspectives. I know that I've had the pleasure to formally review a few of your pieces... stellar stuff! Be and stay well, Frank
Hi Fred, Thanks for the review and comments on my song "Jungle Waltz". I appreciate you taking the time to listen and comment... I'm glad you liked it. I' have visited your page in a while, so I'll drop by and have a listen to some of your stuff again. Thanks again... be and stay well, Frank
Hi John, Great to hear from you again! I absolutely vote you as one of if not...THE best reviewer on Broadjam. You always provide in depth, meaningful and helpful comments/perspectives in your reviews. It's obvious from your comments that you truly LISTEN to the song... noting technical and philosophical aspects. I really appreciate your review on "I Make a Difference". Just the fact that you called out my intentional use of those same two notes placed every two measures is very percipient. That juxtaposed to me wife's lyrics reflects how something so simple... so seemingly insignificant... can indeed make a difference in so many ways. Thanks for another comprehensive and useful review. I'll be sure to check out some of your latest stuff... it's been a minute since I've been on your page. Be and stay well, Frank
Thank you, Frank! Trying to stay out of harm's way. I had to go into SMIL imaging yesterday. The scheduler said she would type into my chart that I prefer the staff who attended me to wear masks. We asked three times if my wearing a mask was okay. "Oh, no problem!" When I followed the tech into the x-ray room, she took off her mask and wanted me to take mine off, too. I told her I wouldn't. They weren't imaging my face. So she and another tech were put off. It took them a half-hour and did them over saying my mask was in the way. I was upset on leaving. Found out the scheduler did not put it in my chart. The manager said, "We follow CDC guidelines and we cannot force our staff to wear masks." Arizona is very much an anti-mask state. When Lora and I are out, more often than not, we are the only ones masked. We use N and K-95s. Politics and personal vanity must NEVER get in the way of physical and mental health! It is a huge flaw in our society and government. Anyway, trying to get my mind distracted again with my songs. I'm going to redo "Sunny Sunday" again because I really like Sofi's folky vocals and get Arden Snow's piano on there...and get the sound updated! John
So sorry to hear about your experience at SMIL. I totally agree that politics and personal vanity must NEVER get in the way of physical and mental health. It's disappointing to hear that a facility that is intended to help and/or heal people, is falling short of respecting the patient's preference. To your point, that preference leads to comfort which in turn leads to mental wellness. And both Jane and I truly believe that our mental health has a profound impact on our physical health. Hang in there John, and I hope all turns out okay for you. Frank
Hi Allison, Thanks for the review and comments on "I Like His Kinda Luvin". That's one where my wife wrote the lyrics, and I did the music. We appreciate you taking the time to listen, review and comment. I'll check out some of your music soon. Be and stay well, Frank
Hey Franck, Thanks for the nice review again and for the endorsement, much appreciated !
Absolutely... much deserved.
Hey there LCP, Thanks so much for the 5-star rating of "Sunrise in the City". I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and rating it. Glad you liked it. Be and stay well, Frank
