Story Behind The Song

With most of the compositions I write, I begin with the thought of a particular subject -- a person, place, or event -- and write around the inspiration that this subject or idea gives me. This composition, however (like "Faith"), was written first, and the title came later. I had heard my mother once use the phrase, "Your soul shines", and I thought: "What a cool title that would be for this tune." This is another piece (like "Faith") where the two guitars play the melody in a harmonized fashion. Since my mother coined the title, and since I feel that it accurately describes her grace and human depth, this tune is dedicated to her. . .
