Hey Flanakin, I spent some time listening to your song "It's Summer" the production feels intentional, especially the way you handled . Quick question though! are you building your catalog with sync licensing in mind, or mainly focusing on releases/streaming right now?

That's great actually, it means you're already putting your music in the right places. Well, as to say. A lot of the artists I speak with on Broadjam are also submitting through platforms like Song Placement Pros and SyncMatch, but one thing I've noticed is that many strong tracks still don't get traction simply because the catalog isn't positioned the way that aligns with supervisors demand. Out of curiosity, have you had any placements or near placements from those submissions yet?
I've had many "under considerations" but no cuts as yet.
That actually tells me a lot. When tracks consistently reach the "under consideration" stage, it usually means the music itself is strong enough to get past the first screening, but something in the way the catalog is packaged or positioned is preventing it from getting the final cut. I see this quite a bit with artists who are submitting through Broadjam and other sync platforms. While listening to "It's Summer" I noticed a couple of things that could make a difference for supervisors when they're reviewing catalogs for TV and ad placements. Lots of my songs are in the "Consideration" stage, but haven't had any cuts so far.
Pat... Just start researching a handful of Australian Publishers that deal in exclusive. Get a few cd's together. Offer one up for exclusive life long placement in their catalogue. It's unconventional but you'd be shocked how much more quickly you'll get paid. I only offer this advice being we have known each other for so long. N
