Rio Wave, is a gorgeous melody it's a sublime song, beautifully, played and arranged. It's the sort of music one would like to hear in heaven!
Thank you for the invite. I am pleased to be on your list and to have you on mine. I will be checking out your page and music.
We appreciate you as well and much love, TSW.
Hey, dudes thanks very much for your kind words on my song "HOLIDAY ROMANCE". I am going to be in New York next May working with Jason Miles perhaps I could get in touch with you!?
Thanks for your review on my song "Thought you were an angel" best wishes to you David!
Its a pleasure Randal. David
Hi David, Thank you very much for such a kind review of my song "DO YOU REMEMBER". I wrote it for my parents who were married for 50 years. Both my Father George Austin, and brothers Robert & JOhn were all musicians. My Father played with Tubby Hayes and Dudley Moore in the 19602's. But, none of them could write music so I wanted to mark their union with something nice and I really appreciate your nice comments! THANKS!
David, I think your reply was meant to go to someone else, as I haven't reviewed the song. However I listened to 'Do You Remember' and liked it very much. Cheers. David James
Very pleasant music! Thanks for sharing. kind regards, Till
Hi Erin, thanks for the kind words about my song "Glenfiddich is the chosen one!". I sent it to Glenfiddich but alas they were not impressed! Can't win em all!
??
David. Thank you for your kind review of 'Sunburst'. That particular song won a Broadjam competition so I'm hoping that something special will happen with it. Thanks once again. David
Well, done David and you are most welcome. "Sunburst" is a great song! Good Luck with your music! I have never won anything! I was a Finalist in the 2008 UK Songwriting Contest but that was it!
I enjoyed listening to "Waiting"! You have a really good voice! Good Luck on your songwriting!
Hey, David just checked out your song "Sunburst". Great Bossa idea.
Thank you for the review for 'How I Roll.' I really appreciate it.
Loving your "How I Roll!". Great, rhythm's going on. And, fantastic singing! Well done!
Thank you for the great review of Grown Up Sexy! I really appreciate your kind words. :)
Thank you for the PL, Penny.
...and the 5 stars too!
You are welcome...5 stars plus!
Hey Penny , Just checked out your photos! Excellent! Not sure the moustache is working though!? LOL! Always loved your music and you are so prolific. Hoping to get signed to William Morris (Literary Agents) this year, for the first book in the trilogy I wrote in 2013. A friend of mine (who is a Phd in English) recommended me to a writing sanctuary last year in May 2014! It was a godsend because I got a standing ovation when I read out just 5 minutes! Good Luck for 2015! Best regards, David X
Yes the mustache is a little iffy LOL....Glad you liked the photos...Good luck with the writing ventures...That standing ovation is a very good sign! :) x
Hi Everyone "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Check out my latest which is the closest I have written to a Van Morrison song called "STARLIT NIGHT". Hope you enjoy! Cheers amigos "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!"
happy composings and the best of success in 2015 world as music
Hey, Oskar long time no speak! HAPPY NEW YEAR and I hope that you have a great 2015!
Hi Check out my latest which is the closest I have written to a Van Morrison song called "STARLIT NIGHT". Hope you enjoy! Cheers amigos "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!"
Hi Angelique, digging your 'Tunnel Vision rap/hip hop idea. It has a hypnotic flow. Excellent only problem is that it is too short. Please send me an extended version. Also love your photos really nice Cheers Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE"
Thanks so much! Yeah its pretty short because it was for a one minute contest.
Did you win!?
thanx david
Hi Signal 30, (Kathy, Rusty apologies not sure who commented on my song!?) A belated "Thanks very much" for giving me such a good review on my song "BAD HABIT"! Very much appreciated. As you can imagine the song was written and recorded as a stinging lampoon at the invidious tobacco industry! Toxic is a word I would use! Loved your song Green Jellybeans! Rocking! I wrote a spoof Meatloaf track called "One Lonely Night" and got a studio to re-record for me called SCAMP. That's the nearest I have ever got to a rock song!
We're so glad we don't smoke! We watched our dads both die from smoking and it isn't pleasant. Thanks for writing a song about it. Keep up the great work!!! Your fans, Rusty and Kathy
You have some good tunes on here David! ~GP
Hi Greg (Crosseyed Miles) Thanks very much for your very kind words. I have just checked some of your songs and was very impressed! Is it yourself who sings? Great voice also the guitarist is outstanding! I only write as a side line, as I'm trying to become an author. Have written first book of a trilogy and on second draft. Hope to get signed to William Morris (Literary agents) next year. I find song writing therapeutic and enjoy the creative process. Your rock sounding voice is authentic and original. I wrote a spoof Meatloaf track called "ON LONELY NIGHT", with my tongue firmly in my mouth! I used a studio called SCAMP and their version is excellent. All tracks on my account which have SCAMP have been re-recorded + re-arranged by them. Good Luck have a feeling you are gonna be famous quite soon! Cheers amigo Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" (Brighton stage name) Not really 'ungrateful' per se but Brighton has thousands of musicians and unless your 'stage name' is a bit unusual, quirky and / or memorable no one would remember you the following day let alone next week!
Hi Signal 30, Thanks very much for your very kind review of my stinging lampoon against "The Tobacco Industry!". And, what a shower of bastards those lot are! About 25 years ago the gits 'gave away' 25 million fags to 6 year old Chinese kids! Lovely! Do they have a conscience? No they do not. That is why BAT (British American Tobacco) industry have been instrumental in paying for someone to 'get rid of' about 13 scientists! We call it murder! Again, lovely! How the hell the gits involved in marketing this toxic muck god only knows! My sympathy lies with the poor smokers on smoking these sticks of death! I typed out a friend's dissertation on his Phd as a scientist! he worked undercover for BAT and the things he told me about the chemical agents which are put in the fags would make your hair curl! Literally! Take it easy & Kind regards, Dave Austin AKA "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!"
Hi Gerald, Had to write something about your review of my "SATIRICAL" stinging lampoon about drivers driving whilst yacking on the mobile! I can see from your comments you did not "Get it" at all!? As the saying goes "One cannot please all the people all the time!". The song is ironic and having a go at the selfish drivers not giving a damn about other drivers and/or pedestrians safety but yacking on their mobile whilst they are supposed to be concentrating on their driving! Cheers Dave Austin
Hi David, I would only say that I do get that, having been almost hit head on by one of those fools. I had to take the ditch. I wanted to "TALK" to them real bad. If you get my drift. I'm sorry if I was a little over critical. I was trying to look at it from a listeners point of view only, as to how the song was structured. I think it could be a very good song, if the song structure was critiqued. As and example of what I mean; give a listen to 'Allan Jacksons', 'Designated Drinker'. It has and intro', verse, bridge, and chorus, ect.. That is what takes the listener along for the musical ride. I hope this helps in some way with your music. I'm not a person who wishes other artist to fail, on the contrary, I want them to grow with their art, and wish the best for them.
*The "Rap" genre on the last review was an error!! ROCK
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the review of my song "THE HUSTLER!", you are right the recording is 'TERRIBLE' I know. You should check out the SCAMP version! That is "THE HUSTLER - (SCAMP) they do a much better job. If you like rock songs also check out "ONE LONELY NIGHT (SCAMP)" I have had such good feedback from other musicians about what SCAMP STUDIO have done with these songs. Am sending "One Lonely Night - SCAMP" & "The Hustler - SCAMP" off to Aerosmith + Meatloaf! It's a long shot but I think it is worth a punt! Cheers again! Ungrateful Dave!
Hey there, Thanks for the kind words and review of my song, "'57 Ragtop Chevrolet". It comes from my 1998 album, "Modern Progress". I really appreciate the review and your perspective. Best, Chet Nichols
Hi Steve, Thanks for the positive comments on your review of my song "BOSSA BEACH". I have been listening to some of your songs and am hugely impressed. Cheers amigo Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" (Brighton stage name) P.S. I am not 'ungrateful' in actuality and/or per se. It is just that when I moved to Brighton in 2011, I realised that if you had a stage name it would need to be a bit quirky, memorable and unusual for other musicians to remember you the following night let alone the following week!
Nice David!! One Lonely Night v2 is definitely a Meatloaf type tune but it's better than that!! Friggin movin' tables...that's the worst. : ) You should connect with my buddy Adam Maxwell who's in the same SE corner of SE England (Sandwich can't be that far from Brighton, no?)
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the 'Head's up' about Adam Maxwell! I'm glad you liked the SCAMP version of "One Lonely Night!" I think they nailed what I was looking for! I was well impressed with your musicianship on the guitar! Outstanding. Because, I am more of a song writer I don't tend to focus so much on trying to be a great guitarist. My creative energy (if you can call it that) tends to be writing directed towards writing in general. Last year I finished the first book of a (trilogy). Without being too pretentious the trilogy is a geo-political forensic thriller. Think more complex than John Grisham! Hoping to get signed to William Morris (Literary Agents) next year. Have an established writing mentoring me on the 2nd draft of the first book. I should be finished on the re-write, tightening up the storyline by April 2015! I write music for my pleasure, I find it is a bit like musical crossword puzzles! When I finally 'crack' the middle eight of a song it's a little bit like sex! A great feeling! I have no intention of gigging! I'm too busy and have too many projects on the boil! I go out and play at 'Open Mics' around Brighton! Good Luck with all your musical endeavours, it's hard trying to break in to the music game. I think you just have to keep going. Cheers amigo David
Another new song posted: TASTES LIKE CHICKEN !! This one make the unspoken argument that "there's no fool like an old fool". It's a total send up that invokes the silly funk stuff that I grew up with in my formative years (hence the lack of taste and discretion). Jimmy Castor Bunch, Parliament, Funkadelic, Bootsy...I still love this stuff, and behind the silliness is a deeply serious love of the hard core groove. I hope you like it!
if 'Men in Black' ever decide to release the next leg of their legacy, you just gave them title and theme song. and, that's coming from an alien that knows.
Yeah Baby, Yeah!!! Great groove and great lyrics that are gonna keep me chuckling all day!! :D
=)
Hi Jeff, Thanks so much for the very positive review of my song "ONE LONELY NIGHT!". I wrote it as a Meatloaf spoof type song! If you like it try the same song re-recorded by SCAMP STUDIO with the same title but SCAMP at the end of "ONE LONELY NIGHT - SCAMP". I have checked out your songs and I was really impressed, innovative clever, and some great guitar playing! I really liked your songs! I especially liked "TASTE'S LIKE CHICKEN". I thought the title inspired! Ha Ha! Thanks v much once again. Cheers amigo Dave Austin aka ("UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" - Brighton stage name).
Thank you for your re4view David I agree about female vocals this is not the complete track its just a demo. As in my Bio I have bee away from music for a while now but intend to launch my CD next year. Thanks again Eric
Hi David, thanks for the review of Lauriella. I like the challenge, I will certainly experiment with broader progressions and instrumentation.
Hi David, Thank You For Your ReviEw Of My Song "It's Over". I Definitely Understand What You Are Saying About Everything. Great Feedback And Glad You Liked My Song! Thank You For Listening.
It is my pleasure. I thought "It's Over" a very good song, with lots of influences that even I at 65 could hear! I wish you lots of good luck in marketing! Hope to see you soon at the big awards ceremonies and on TV soon! Good Luck in your music Take care Dave Austin aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE! (that's my stage name in Brighton, UK)
Hi David, thank you for your review of Carolina Roads. I think I am going to explore that suggestion about the middle eight in my next composition, it is a great idea. Cheers.
Hi Numinous Owl, (great name by the way!) It was my pleasure, and thought that with your musicianship you will have a great career ahead of you as a songwriter as well. Continued good luck in your song writing and getting your stuff out there and on the radio + TV Hope to hear about you soon Cheers amigo Dave Austin (aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE!" my stage name in Brighton UK where I live!)
*it was sent to Andrew - one day I will learn to type
Hi David, Thanks v much for your helpful and encouraging review of my song "Do you remember" which I wrote for my parents who have since both passed on. I will delete the MP3 on my account and search out the full version at 4.20 seconds. I was really impressed with instrumental version of "I can see it in your eyes". Outstanding guitar playing and very evocative. Get marketing and see if a Music library will use it for a film!
Hi David, Just to let you know that I have now 're-loaded' up "DO YOU REMEMBER" which has a 5minute 11 second version on there. Have played it and it does not cut out! Thanks very much for letting me know about that! This song I recorded years ago (about 10!) Using Cubase and have long lost all the Cubase editing files! I now use Logic Pro which is a heck of a lot more stable than Cubase. I will be sending off this track to SCAMP STUDIO for them to re-record for me around September. They work closely with The Guild of International Songwriters & Composers and their re-arrangements + re-recordings are usually top knotch! I am not a bad player but have not really focused on being a great player because I have too many other interests. Last year I wrote a geo-political forensic thriller (first in a trilogy) am now busy on second draft. have secured the help of an established writer called Adam LeBor as a mentor and hope to obtain a literary agent some time in 2015! Good Luck with your own music, you have an impressive portfolio and some great songs! Cheers amigo Dave Austin (aka "UNGRATEFUL DAVE" my Brighton based stage name!)
Hi Dave. Glad you got the download fixed and thank you for your kind comments regarding my songs. I am familiar with SCAMP because a friend of mine, who lives nearby, Alan Rogers uses their services. Alan's songs are also on Broadjam. Best of luck. David
