Song Description

Song about the plight of the jews during the 2nd world war. The lyrics centre around the journey by train to the camps and the subsequent disembarkation at the destination.

Story Behind the Song

I went to Auschwitz in 2007 to see for myself what went on there. This song is a result of that trip.

Broadjam Member Reviews

Nice piece, Would make agood soundtrack

    - Fred Kimmel

The song creates a very nice melancholic mood. I like the way the E-Piano harmoinizes with the vocals.
The vocals also are sung very well.
The song would fit perfectly into a movie, but it also would work well as a single pop song.
I could also imagine it as a part of a bigger work such as a musical, or something like that.

    - Simon Niclas Hahn
Lyrics

Mama can you open the door, I can't see my friends anymore and I'm
Scared and afraid of the dark, oh mama,
Hold me in your arms like before

So many people all in one place, I wish I knew that look on your face
I've never seen that look in your eyes Mama,
I can read the fear in your face

On the day that they came, the sun was shining,
On the day that they came, people weren't crying
On the day that they came, our lives changed for evermore

Why did they tell us a lie and why do all the mothers cry?
The men are so mean to us now, I wonder
What they'll do to us and why

Where are our possessions now? I want to brush my hair, but how?
Mama tells me things will be fine, oh mama,
What is my identity now?

On the day that they came, the sun was shining,
On the day that they came, people weren't crying
On the day that they came, our lives changed for evermore

Mama don't you let me go, I've seen the eyes of those men
Papa will you hold me tight, I want to be lost
In those eyes, Papa, no

On the day that they came, the sun was shining,
On the day that they came, people weren't crying
On the day that they came, our lives changed for evermore

On the day that they came, the sun was shining,
On the day that they came, people weren't crying
On the day that they came, our lives changed for evermore
