Don't Break My Heart Again/Featuring Shannon Marie

Story Behind The Song

"Dont Break My Heart Again " was wrtiten for a vocalist with the Whitney Houston penache. It is a tribute to her style, voice and grace and yet could be sung by some of musics best pop divas just as well. However, to me ,it will always be a Whitney song.

Don't Break My Heart Again
Lyrics by
Felice Kaye-Cooper

Verse 1

I know I must forget you
Move on with my life at last
But how do I erase
So much of the past

And I can hear you whisper to me
I ask myself but why
Now that it's over
Since you said good-bye (To Chorus after repeat)

Verse 2

I thought you'd always love me
How foolish to think you could
You never made a promise
You ever would

I wonder why do you still haunt me
To keep the flame aliveu
Now that it's over
Since you said good-bye

Don't break my heart again
Now that you've gone away
You had your chance but you
Threw it away

I will find love again
That will not break my heart
This time I'll see all the signs
From the start (To Coda)

(Tag or Break)

I know I'll miss you
And long to hold you again
But that would surely be unwise

D.S. al Coda
And now I ( verse 1 to chorus, (no tag) To Coda)

Don't call my name
Love's not a game
We'd only be pretending
Once again

Don't even try
You said good-bye
You walked away and
And never told me why

You walked away and
Never told me why

This sounds like a very retro song it could have come from the 50's and 60's. The quality of the singing improves throughout the song but is weakest at the beginning with a little vibrato. The appeal of the the song grows. It is a classic broken romance lyric entertaining but not totally original. I love the high note at the end brilliant!

Full-bodied break-up song passionately sung by an INCREDIBLE soprano who's voice soars like nobody's business. Wow! What pipes! Every word is crystal clear and the production suits the song well. Excellent instrumentation. Seems like the whole song was really well thought out.
