Here's a song about a memorable night train ride, taking the singer back home to his love. The poetry and alliteration in this song are stellar. I especially admire the use of alliteration (slipping swirling steel). That's some great lyric writing!

Great beat, drives and captures listener. Could be a Van Morrison or Maybe Bruce Springsteen tune. Good story and creates a good picture of the travel.

VERSE 1.
Rainy night hugs the station
The taxis run and hide
Subway rhymes wander downward
And beckon me to ride
Weaving my way back home
On the night train
On another homeward run
On the night train
CHORUS
Slipping from stations
Through the swirling steam
The sounds and the motions
Set my mind to dreaming
Of gliding through the mountains
And across the moonlite plains
Coming home to you
Coming home to you
VERSE 2.
Touching down and shooting sparks
We're rolling through the dark
Whispered words and lost connections
They haunt the weary hearts
Weaving their way back home
On the night train
On another homeward run
On the night train
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE
Lovers smile
Their whispers pass me bye
Sometime I'd like to learn
The secrets of these aisles
Of the love the has grown
And the love that has gone home alone
On the night train
On the night train
REPEAT CHORUS
VERSE 1.
Rainy night hugs the station
The taxis run and hide
Subway rhymes wander downward
And beckon me to ride
Weaving my way back home
On the night train
On another homeward run
On the night train
CHORUS
Slipping from stations
Through the swirling steam
The sounds and the motions
Set my mind to dreaming
Of gliding through the mountains
And across the moonlite plains
Coming home to you
Coming home to you
