Story Behind The Song
This is a fun, upbeat Holiday song....great sing-along tune. It is about a fun-loving town and how they celebrate Christmas.

																	Song Description
My mom and dad inspired this song. Mom made a rum-seasoned Fruit Cake for the Holidays that was delicious . She made it and then it cured in a round tin for a few months. One year, dad, decided to add some EXTRA RUM and that was a batch that became legendary in the family and with our friends. Funny stories abounded.

VERSE 1. INTRO: C-F-G-C-F-G
There's a place I know where the sleigh bells ring
And the songs of the season make us join in and sing
And the merchants on Main Street, love to put on a show
By dressing all the kissing booths with mistletoe and bows.
CHORUS
That's my town at Christmas
Yeah, my town at Christmas
So, put on your Christmas sweater and be watching for my sleigh
'Cause me and Mr. Jingles are gonna carry you away
To my town at Christmas.
VERSE 2.
It's where people tell these tales of elves they can't see
And the reindeer that soar high above the trees
Whatever's in that punch bowl, well it really puzzles me
'Cause we all wind-up in a conga line dancing round the tree
CHORUS:
That's in my town at Christmas
Yeah, my town at Christmas
And we'll stop 'n get jelly roll along the way
So, Santa has a treat when he flies away
From my town at Christmas
Bridge:
Now, the old folks and their walkers love skiing down the hills
And good ole Uncle Chester's passing out $100 dollar bills
And the children in their PJs, are yawning sleepyheads
Till Santa hits the radar and they scramble up to bed
Verse 3:
Then we go singing door-to-door to the last place left to go
It's a ride up to the chapel, thru the moonlight and the snow
The pastor appears with his violin and fires up his bow
And we all start to dance again to a joyous do-see-doe
In my town at Christmas
BRIDGE:
When I tasted Grandma's fruit cake, I knew something was wrong
'Cause the scent of Captain Morgan was suspiciously too strong
But a smiling wink from Grandpa, made my "Reindeer nose" go on
That's the family recipe, that made me write this song.
REPEAT CHORUS
That's my town at Christmas
Yeah, my town at Christmas
We all take turns shaking tambourines
And pass round a jug of sweet poteen
In my tow
