Different Moon was founded in 2015 by North Carolina (USA) songwriter Jim Piper. During his high school years, Piper met a fellow keyboardist and songwriter, Mike Smith. Over the next 20 years they collaborated on 50 songs together under the moniker Desert Rain. Then at the early age of 37, Smith passed away. Piper decided to honor his friend by releasing the debut Different Moon EP 'Desert Rain' in 2015, introducing to the public five of their co-written songs. The artist name Different Moon was selected from the name of a song they wrote together. Encouraged by several intl. songwriting honors and interest from new fans, Piper decided to continue writing and releasing new songs as Different Moon. Between 2016 and 2019, Piper released two additional EP's and several singles, while receiving over twenty intl. songwriting nominations. While the music of Different Moon continues to evolve, its foundation is a blend of alternative, pop, and rock melodically crafted together.

Different Moon, thank you for the 5 star rating on Beautiful Sin. You have some really great stuff here. From Myth to Legend is top notch! I really enjoy listening. Ash

Hi Jim - I really like the drum tracks on "From Myth..."! When I listened to the song the other day, I was wondering if the hook was strong enough. Then, this morning, guess what music was in my head? Yes, "from myth to legend', so evidently, that melody/hook line is memorable! Good luck with this song! Susan
