Hi. Helen. Congrats on being considered for the commercial placement.I think you would be perfect choice! Awesome job. I entered a commercial song "real good day" but I know it would be a long shot because my song wasn't mixed well and didn't have all the bells and whistles I wanted. My song was more energetic I guess for more of a shopping mall setting. Yours is more lad back, relaxing fit for a commercial of that kind. I'm going to work on my songs before I submit them again. Congrats again! Great job!
Hey guys, I have great news! Although I didn't have success entering my song for the music licensing opportunity I submitted to here on broadjam ,I did however win my first songwriting contest! Isn't that exciting! My very first recorded song "It's a new day" won the Home Recording Weekly Blog songwriting contest for the month of July! Despise not small beginnings! Much Thanks to Steve(Home recording weekly) for offering such an awesome contest! I won some very cool prizes that are very much appreciated, and will definitely be utilized to help me improve my recordings. These prizes will be such a great addition to our studio! Hi. Roy. I'm new to broadjam.Joined last month. I've submitted to one oppurtunity already. I am interested in another licensing Opp. but I have a question that I didn't find there. Is there anyway to find out how long of a song they are looking for. They are seeking a song for a commercial. To my understanding commercials are normally about 30 seconds but some are a bit less and some more. Is there anyway to find out how long of a song they need? Thanks.
Cherell, Thanks for your note....I wouldn't worry too much about song length with commercials. Generally, they will hear the tune and probably ask you for a tweak to the original anyway. They might want specific lyrics, updated tempo, etc. Length is really not much of an issue, unless otherwise noted. Hope this helps....Roy

Hey T-bone. Thanks for the nice compliment. It means a lot to me that you were feeling "It's a new day". It's great to get positive compliments from very talented and skillful people as yourself. I would have like for my song to be a better quality but we don't have a condenser mic or a pre-amp at the moment. Having those would boost the production quality . Hope to have those items in the near future. It's funny that I'm definitely not a rapper but I actually came up with some rap lyrics but they are very simple gospel rap lyrics with a small chorus. I'm really horrible at rapping LOL :) Just for fun I may come up with some other positive lyrics that may fit "Focus" and see how it turn out. If it does work you're right it could turn into a great placement! It would be fun to maybe collaborate one day. Thanks again for the commenting. Keep in touch.

We have Majix studio and Cubase, but we used cubase for the project. My husband agrees with you that we need a better mix. That would be great if you could mix it for me but unfortunately I don't think I could afford it at the moment. I really appreciate the offer though.
