Hello, My name is Bob Levoy, and I am a U.S. Navy Veteran and music and concert reviewer. I have written over 3500 reviews since the 1980s for my blog Oasis Entertainment and for independent record labels, PR firms, festivals, venues and bands. I write reviews for all genres, except for hip hop, which is not my cup of tea. In addition to all the independent labels and artists that I have been writing reviews for, I am currently an Author on Staff at Virtuosity Worldwide Arts & Entertainment Magazine, a subsidiary of Virtuosity Worldwide LLC. Vinyl (I prefer signed if available) 2. CD's (I also review older releases) 3. Digital Download 4. Streaming only if I don't have any of the above on my desk which is very rare. good morning, fellow B'Jam Society Members. . . please accept my apologies for not being more present on these pages: more succinctly, for taking the time to explore and enjoy your musical contributions to the world. what can I say, I am an admitted slackard bordering on social flunky. since selling my guitars and home studio to avoid living in a cardboard box under some over pass, I have not been the person I should be. things will have to change, especially my current attitude. doctor visits, counseling, reaching out to family and friends are in the works. let's just say I am still a work in progress. even opened up a gofundme.com campaign in the attempt to at least put a guitar back in my hands. self-pride is no longer an issue. my promise is to set aside more time to visit your music pages, not to judge, simply to enjoy. Man what are you doing???? That version you had up was wonderful, and now you've fallen under the hypnotic autotune spell again. Is it living too close to Nickelback (Vancouver BC) that makes you do that??? Run your songs by a committee. I wanna hear what you had before. Listen to Cyndi dang it. :)
While your "Shine final remix", is still a great song, in and of itself, I must admit, your earlier posting, with your vocals unfettered by special effects, is the better of the two! Like fingerprints, vocal timbre is unique to all of us, and you have a fine vocal presence! Remember, have no fear with your personal expression, ESPECIALLY, with your own wonderful music! You stated, "I wish I could feel as confident as you.......", and that's a large part of it. Begin to FEEL confident, and you WILL be! It's a lesson in expression that I believe, we ALL must re-learn from time to time, for with the barage of all the artists "out there", it's too easy to compare ourselves with others..............stop it! Be your own lovely self, and express you wonderful music, with your own strong and lovely vocals!!! Be at Peace with it all!
I like the autotune :). But, i would use that sparingly amongst the natural vocal tracks. That way its used for impact and emphasis, artistic expression, whatever you wanna call it. I love the voice!! Sounds awesome!!! -Wes
