Wow I just listened to your song `If I Had The Time' on the IMSTA top 5. What an amazing track! Your voice just blew me away completely. Also I love the arrangement, for example the way you brought in those strings in the first verse, it was a great effect.

Yeah they were quite late in notifying people, I only heard from them a few days before the award thing, I was able to send a friend to represent me and I ended up winning, but I have no idea yet what the prizes are.

Chet, What an above and beyond the call review of my song The Round Table. Thank you so much. It's a very personal song for me written right after 911. It's not about 911 but the sadness I was feeling had me reeling. It was not a high tech production....me and a sax clip on mic (I'm a reed player by trade) and a 4 track;)
Hey Matt, You are most welcome. I learned a very long time ago by by two of my many mentors (my dad, being one of them, he was a photographer) that songwriters, good ones, are people who are, in essence, photographers, who put words to pictures and emotions and then add music to them. Then, again, a muse can sneak into our abodes and hum a sweet melody in our ears and awaken us and inspire us to get out of bed and write the melody down. You did a fine job within these types of inspiration. 4-track, eh? Yeah, I used one of those for several years. A Tascam cassette machine. Then went to an 8-track....then took the plunge and started with a Pro-Tools M-Box...which was too bugging and empty of tools. Then I discovered Garage Band...used it for a little while....then jumped to Logic. Point is, there are just tools.... the meal on the plate, is the song. And you served up a VERY nice one with your song. Thanks for sharing. Chet
