Pulse

Story Behind The Song

This song was first conceived in the 90s, with a guitar line from a friend (credited), I supplied the lyric and the song was played by our then band Red Mosquito, when the duo Ambersceptre was formed, I reworked the song, in this form. This recording is from 2004.

Song Description

The song is basically an argument between two people regarding the existence of ghosts, and spiritual experiences. The verses deal with experiences of astral projection, possession and the appearance of a ghost appearing hovered above me when I awoke (I swear it happened). The other dialogue is the discussion between believer and sceptic.

Lyrics

Put your hands to your ears
Hear the blood pumping round
Close your mind from fate or impulse
Time is slipping through our fingers
Cutting through the clock dial figures
Life exists all around without organic pulse

Takes me back to early 80's! Love the Blondie/Pat Benatar flavored lead vocals!
Instrumentation has that true sound of the era.
The lyrics are on target with the male backing vocals on chorus.
Great mix, sounds ready for a movie/tv show!
