Lyrics

Wake up- my whole room's a mess-piles of winter clothes
8 o'clock- I missed first class-third day in a row-
Cell check- fifty messages say "Where the hell are you???
It's seventy- the sun is out-so grab your bathing suit

Meet us-in the parking lot-7-11
Our parents might- kill us all tonight- but today will be Heaven
We'll grab some mags, cokes and chips and cram into the car
And leave the others stuck in school as we go drivin' far far

Farther down the highway
Wind blowin' through our hair
Free at last from months of cold
And knowing when we get there
We'll spread our blankets on white sand
Kick off our shoes, soak up some sun
Chill all day with nothing planned
Play some music, have some fun

'cause
We know it's not summer yet
Got three months left
To make it through
But we'll take any chance we get
To pull the roof top down
And head toward EXIT 82

The boardwalk's-still all boarded up- 'cept for the arcade
We'll drop some quarters tryin' to win the biggest prize displayed
And when the temperature starts risin' a degree or two
We'll stroll out on that endless beach under a sky so blue blue

Bluer than the water
Seagulls dancin' through the air
Free at last from months of cold
And knowing when we get there
We'll spread our blankets on white sand
Kick off our shoes, soak up some sun
Chill all day with nothing planned
Play some music, have some fun

'cause...
chorus

And as the girls cuddle up in their boyfriends' coats as dusk begins to fall
We'll watch the sun slip down behind lazy boats as our parents start to...
Call...

Great song. It would probably do very well commercially.

Excellent vocals complimented well by subtle effects. Nice driving beat with synth and lovely off the wall ending. Could quite easily see this has market potential - if someone famous sung it nobody would bat an eyelid.

great words and energy

I like the dance arrangement. Great potential to be a popular dance tune.

The quality of this recording is really good. Instrumentation and vocals are both excellent. You did a really nice job with this piece! Catchy melody.
