Story Behind The Song
The song came to me while playing flamenco guitar on a balcony in Paris... alone, saturday night, waiting for the call from the mysterious "jimmy james"... The guitar was recorded in that apartment, and later the vocals were recorded in the captain's cabin of a spider-infested boat on the Seine.
Back in L.A. i did a trip-hop version of the song... and at the time I was living in a rehearsal studio that looked out on the most amazing mural portrait of Jimi Hendrix... Listening to the song while looking at Jimi(originally called Jimmy James), I realized the lyrix can also relate to the way that Jimi played guitar... 'got me danglin round his finger, on a string, makes me feel like i got wings, leaves me hangin on a note, saying - GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND SOUL'.

Lyrics
maybe he thinks i'm playing a game
or he already knows i'm strange
got me guessin every which way
what to do, what's the next move that he'll make
got me singin shades of blue
songs i never thought i knew
...
you tease me
then you torture me
please please me
i never get enough
...
i still don't even know his name
he wants me to call him jimmy james
got me danglin round his finger, on a string
makes me feel like i got wings
leaves me hangin with a note
sayin 'GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND SOUL'
...
you tease me
then you torture me
it's evil
this ecstasy
you tease me
then you torture me
please please me
i never get enough
....
it's never enough
never enough
never enough
this love, jimmy james...
i love this pain
GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND SOUL
GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND SOUL
GIVE ME YOUR HEART AND SOUL
