Story Behind The Song

We're recording out in the desert at a studio in the middle of a 60-acre dry lakebed. I'm out running amidst the tumbleweeds with Snowball, this adorable white wolf dog that was hanging out with us. As we get closer to the studio, I'm thinking - 'oh i really need to hear some Coldplay right now'. As soon as I walk in the studio door, Rokk puts on Coldplay over the large monitors. How's that for telepathy!? Without a word we both sit on opposite sides of the room just absorbing the music... Somewhere out of the blue I get this urge to play with the new version of FruityLoops. After a few minutes there's this real poppy track happening in my headphones. As I'm headbopping Rokk walks up and places a notepad on the desk. I look down and there are the complete lines to a beautiful poem written in all capital letters... "CIRCLES IN THE SAND..." Then he puts on the headphones, hears the track, and gets this grin on his face that's just like, "A-HA! Yes..." We play the track on the speakers, and I start singing the poem to the track, and the melody is just instantly there. Poof! all of a sudden we had co-written a song in 20 minutes without even knowing it!

...perhaps we were guided by the Ancient Ones. ;-)
