Lyrics

Mama bye, mama bye
I'm leaving home
Mama bye, mama bye
I'm leaving home
Cuz your son is now a man
And I'm off to unknown lands
So mama bye, mama bye
I'm leaving home

You can find me
You can find me on the road
You can find me
You can find me on the road
Though I strive to survive
I just can't watch another one of
My young brothers die
So you can find me
You can find me on the road

Brother man, sista ma'am
Get it right
Brother man, sista ma'am
Get it right
Ancestors died, ancestors died
So you could have a better life
So brother man, sista ma'am
Get it right

Mama bye, mama bye
I'm leaving home
Mama bye, mama bye
I'm leaving home
So many lessons I have to learn
And if by chance I don?t return
Have no fear
I did my best while I was here

Emotional and compelling, generally relatable and important lyrics... the simplicity and sparseness of the track sets a real desperate scene of someone alone with a guitar singing... adds to the emotion of what otherwise would be a common sounding blues tune if it was fully produced... In my opinion this approach takes the "blues" to a really personal level which is a good trick to master... I think this track could well be used in the right movie or TV scene.

OH YEAH!--sounds like some of that old MISSISSIPPI DELTA BLUES stuff!--great composition!--THANXS--JOE.--a great one to do LIVE!
