Story Behind The Song
I was contemplating breaking up with my lover; something I did every other day in this relationship. I walked out to clear my mind and looked up at the sky. There it waas! Rows of clouds branching off either side of a long center plume.of white. It looked just like a fish bone. t
Then I recalled my Mom's story about Mackeral Skies. The is mackeral sky seemed to suit my mood; unsettles, bare boned anxiety and dread.
I ran home to my twelve string and created the progression then sat down to write the lyric. With this irksome object as a vehicle for my unease I sped along and completed the lyric in one sitting.
Song Description
A song with a sky that's fishy and starkly barren; it speaks of loss and sadmness. It speaks of memories regained but still not understood. It howls like a wildcat while Polish radio stations vie for amplitude.

Lyrics
i am wide awake
under mackeral skies
i am dreaming up
my alibies
i am sorting out
iam scrolling through
every reason i may part with you
this is very hard
this is not a game
i am still beside you
just the same
and i'm sorting out
each and every part
every withered hope
inside my heart
inside me
when i was a chilod
beneath these skies
mother called them mackeral
i asked why
"it's like rows of bones,
like a fish picked clean,
skeleton giving way to darker things.
i amwide awake
under mackeral skies
i am dreaming up my alibies
i am sorting out
i am scrolling through
there's a good chance
i won't tell you
