Story Behind The Song
I was young. I was in love. He did me wrong. Blah blah blah. You know the story. And instead of breaking glasses or getting drunk, I wrote a song ! How therapeutic. Much better I think ! That was a long time ago.
Song Description
I am sure we've all felt this awful awful pain at some pont in our lives... you know, when you break up with someone, or they do the dirty on you, but you still love them ? So, it's a lament over a man, the feelings I would feel when I knew he was with her.... it's a love gone wrong song ! The melody is very simplistic. I know it's said this word a few times, but it truly is a "Lament " I reckon.

Lyrics
~ MY MAN ~ c 1990
1. You keep tellin' me that it's no good.
But like a flower needs rain. I need you.
Have you ever wanted someone so bad that it hurts.
Well, I'm hurtin'. Oh oh oh.
CHORUS : And when I see you with her, loving her
Oh, I cry a little.
I dream of how you held me close.
And I die a little. Oh oh oh oh.. Oh oh oh oh.
2. I keep tellin' myself to let you go.
But like a bird needs to sing. I need you.
They say for ev'ry girl there is a man...
Well, you're my man. oh oh oh...
CHORUS : And as I lie alone in bed at night..
Oh, I cry a little.
Cos I know she is in your arms tonigt.
Oh, I die a little .
Oh, my man. Oh, I die a little.
Oh, my man. Oh, I cry a little.
Oh , my man...... Oh oh oh oh..... etc
