Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song when I was living in Sydney, staring out of my little, and I mean little bedsitter apartment overlooking the beautiful harbour and city ! A bird flew past my window, hence the first lyrics of the song, and my piano faced up against this giant window looking out and I just felt so free and wonderful ! I was single then and still a bit confused about life etc. So the lyrics are a mixutre of emotions. But basically, it's a song close to my heart that stirs up feelings of happiness and a carefree spirit, and I think the music relfects that !
Song Description
I love this song. This is one of my favourite ones i've written. I think because of where I was when I wrote it and the time in my life too. Although the lyrics may seem sad, if you listen to the song it's so very happy. It breezes along, with a great rhythmn and it is still hopeful. About being a young girl and still slightly confused about life but very much enjoying it. There is always such a mixture of emotion, I believe when you're not quite a woman and still a girl. That's what this song is about really....
