The Garden of Her Heart

Story Behind The Song

Mother loved to work in the garden. She loved beautiful flowers. As I thought about her working in the garden, down on her knees pulling weeds and tending the soil... pruning and caring for them ,,, I realized it was because of her loving care that her flower beds were full of the sweet fragrance of the flowers she so faithfuly tended. In much the same way, she submitted her life to the Master's care allowing Him to shape her heart .... a heart as fragrant and sweet as a honeysuckle flower. Her heart was like a garden... full of the fragrance of her good life, her good deeds, her love for God's children. She was a friend to the underdog. She loved God with her whole heart and was faithful in all she did. She was a walking, breathing example to me of the love and compassion of Jesus. THANK YOU MOTHER, I MISS YOU

Verse 1: Her heart was like a garden fair, where flowers of color bloom,

Fragrant and full of rare and costly perfumes

A paradise, a garden among toilsome thorns.

Tender life did bloom there and gifts of love were born

Chorus 1:

And in her garden I found comfort.

In her garden I found peace.

She showed a faith I can hold onto,

tending her garden on her knees.

Verse 2: She fled earth's restraining veil yet in her shadow there is light.

Hope passed on, life well lived in sunshine or dark night

Now she walks in paradise by waters crystal clear

Heaven's flowers never fade, eyes have no tears.

Chorus 2:
And in His garden I find comfort.

In His garden I find peace.

I have a faith I can hold onto,

know how to get down on my knees.

Bridge: Memories she left behind still speak His truth to me.

Lips of honey sharing kindness with a heart of loyalty

showing the way to my Savior the one who sets men free

Chorus 3:
The love of God was always near her,

In her hands and in her heart

She desired His skillful pruning,

her garden His work of art.

TAG:
Yes, the garden of her heart was the Master's work of art.

Pleasing vocals, whole song had a gentle feel. I hope it is not someone you knew and lost? It is not often you find a man who has found the pure heart and the light a woman has to give. I loved the whole feel of this gentle song.
