Song Description

This song is currently being sung by "Voices of Glory" in their shows in Branson Mo. They recently recorded and it is for sale on their new album. They do an amazing job on it, but so does Jason Wyatt in this demo version.

Story Behind the Song

Audrey asked if I would help her write a reggae rock song based on the scrip-ture, Ask and you will recieve. She and I wrote the lyric on the way home from the dentist.

Nice, a joy to listen to, thank you for submitting this song.

    - The Joseph Michael Band

Melodically, this song is catchy. I hear elements of reggae, pop, country, and a bit of rock--not really rock-religious, but it's so hard to categorize music. I think the "oh-oh" parts in the chorus and intro are a particularly good touch.

V1: I'm gonna put this chorus on my cell phone.
I'm Gonna have it for my ring tone
When I hear it I'll remember to ask J.C. ,
I'll remember just how much He. cares for you and me.
Yes He sees me when I'm sleepin'. He knows when I'm awake.
But He's no Santa checkin' His list for goodness sake.

Chorus:Ask and you will receive.
Lay down your doubting, only believe.
Believe He is a Good God, watching over you
Believe in His love. Love forever true
Oh Oh Oh, just believe

V2: You know I don't have 'cause I forget to ask,
I forget Egypt is in my past.
I don't receive when I am asking selfishly,
Reaching out to others in His love is what I need
J.C. s not a magic Jennie, in Never Never Land
He's Heaven's King in my heart. A friend who holds my hand
(CHORUS)

BRIDGE: He doesn't give me everything I want, BUT I have all I need

I believe He IS the great I Am, Rewarding all who seek to please Him!
.... I believe I Believe I BELIEVE

(FINAL CHORUS)

I'll ask and I will receive. I lay down my doubting Lord I believe.

You are a good God, watching over me. I trust Your love. You love unselfishly.

Oh oh oh I believe, Oh, oh, oh I believe
