Story Behind The Song

I actually started this song a few years before I ended it. It was as rif that I had been working on while out in Colorado, Whern I moved back to Mn I was living on the Whitfish Chain, a chain of lakes in northern Mn and wanted to include it in a song but the song really took hold when I went and visited Gettysburg and stood below the statue dedicated to the first Minnesota regimate.. A time and place not taught in our schools and being a big historian I wanted to bring it to light.
