Story Behind The Song
I have always been a history buff especially our military endevors I wrote a song called " The Hero's Always Die" which was a good song but wanted something more a co-writer sent me the lyrics to " Blood In The Sand" and I was imediatly impressed with the subject matter. I had been working on a slow guitar lic that I thought would fit this theme, after a short while I composed the music and arranged the lyrics to fit and believe that this is my best song..

Lyrics
verse1
He's 84 but that day of the war still haunts his memory
The sights and the sounds as they hunkered down
on that beach in Normandy
He's weathered and grey but wont forget the way those GI's took a stand
For the stars and stripes they risked there lives and left their blood in the sand
left their blood in the sand
verse2
She's 59 and can still here the whine of those helicopter blades
she's cries sometimes for every single life they tried so hard to save
over there in Nam she became their mom she held each one's hand
and help them pray as they gravely lay and left there blood in the sand
they left there blood in the sand
chorus:
blood in the sand the price to be free
blood in the sand for god and country
they got the call they did their duty and left theit blood in the sand
left there blood in the sand
verse3
he's 23 a double amputee with a wife and a kid
that road side blast one day in Iraq didn't change his mind a bit
he'd tell you streight up that he's re-up and head back to that land
and fight beside the proud willing to dye and leave their blood in the sand
leave their blood in the sand
chorus
blood in the sand the price to be free
blood in the sand for god and country
they got the call they did their duty and left their blood in the sand
left their blood in the sand
