Song Description

in the big sense it's about life and death in the sense that we're only here for a minute relative to all time, but how glorious it is to have that minute.

Story Behind the Song

me and some friends put a little jam together to play an event and we called ourselves the crucials, almost as kind of a tongue in cheek name. and i just started singing the word and then the song grew from there

Lyrics

The earth crushes the moon
as you cross the room
and it's crucial
you said there's love and there's peace
no in between
cuz it's crucial

you promised me something
i knew i might not see again
you promised me something
before i knew even your name

I said but they stare
you said but who cares
it's not crucial
you know when it's real
you know how it feels
cuz it's crucical

i promised you more
than i probably had any right to
but promising more led to promising shores
and a nice view

and i am amazed
and slightly amused
one day we all of us ashes and dust
for a moment we flew

the roses in bloom
an olfactory boon
and it's crucial
they're here and they're gone
so don't wait too long
cuz it's crucial

you promised me anything everything i could become
you showed me the world and taught me to help it to bloom

and i am amazed
inching toward fine
one day we all of us ashes and dust
for the moment we're flying

and i am renewed
and feeling renowned
i'm feeling everyone i ever loved
here with me now
