Song Description

Introspective / a look at another's life or "way" of life.

Story Behind the Song

My former husbands last name 'Krive' means 'crooked house' in his native Serbian language. I was inspired...and the song was truly about how I saw him as an individual and really expresses part of our struggles as a couple.

Lyrics

Crooked House (Robin Revier c1999/ascap)

You live inside a crooked house and I know
I can't begin to understand where you go
when you close the door turn out the light
say goodbye to another night

CHORUS:
I know you don't care
What's going on in the world out there
I know you keep inside all your deepest fears
I know that you say don't worry I'm gonna be okay
Then you go inside where it's safe to hide
Then you go inside your crooked house

Never letting anybody in is one of your charms
But I keep coming back again and again with open arms
and I knock and knock cuz I wanna say
I can help you through this day

Rpt. Chorus>

Bridge:
I am never gonna leave you there all alone
Even if I have to break into your crooked home

Chorus>out
