Song Description

After promising to be faithful in a monogamous relationship, a woman suggests she hasn't been after all!

Story Behind the Song

Formerly known as "Take My Love & Throw It Away", this song tells the story of how an ugly and utterly thoughtless remark made one night by a wonderfully crazy blond I was seeing, squeezed the final breath of life out of the most "tortured romance" I've ever experienced! And just to rub the wound raw, she said it over a bottle of champagne while we were celebrating our one year anniversary together. How this stormy relationship ever made it to the one year mark in the first place is beyond me, but that remark sealed the coffin for good. Cameron Smith

Lyrics

VERSE 1

MY DAYS REFLECT THE SADNESS & THE GLARE OF MY PAIN

THE NIGHTS ARE DARK & LONELY & I'M TIRED OF THIS GAME

MY LADY LIED TO ME WHILE SHE SPREAD HER LOVE AROUND

IT STRUCK ME LIKE A BULLET AS MY HEART HIT THE GROUND

VERSE 1 BRIDGE

SHE SAID SHE NEVER WOULD AND I BELIEVED SHE NEVER EVER COULD

CHORUS 1

TAKE MY LOVE AND THROW IT AWAY

BURN MY SOUL YET ANOTHER DAY

PIERCE MY SPIRIT WITH YOUR POISON DARTS

TAKE YOUR DAGGER AND BLOODY MY HEART

VERSE 2

I GOT MYSELF IN DEEP I'LL HAVE TO DIG MY WAY OUT

SHE PROMISED SHE WOULD NEVER SHARE HER BODY ABOUT

I FEEL BETRAYED & ANGRY & I NEED TO LET HER GO, BUT IT

HURTS ME JUST TO THINK OF LIFE WITHOUT HER LOVELY GLOW

VERSE 2 BRIDGE

SHE SAID SHE NEVER WOULD BUT IN THE END I GUESS SHE REALLY COULD

CHORUS 2

TAKE MY LOVE AND THROW IT AWAY

BURN MY SOUL YET ANOTHER DAY

PIERCE MY SPIRIT WITH YOUR POISON DARTS

TAKE YOUR DAGGER AND BLOODY MY HEART

REPEAT CHORUS
