I wrote this song about my beloved father for his 50'th birthday as a thank you for all he has done for me (especially given up a career in music of his own to have a family).

What worthy words could I say?
To duly express all the love in my heart
I could only mention that 50 has never looked so wonderful as it does today

Now what ever happened to birthdays?
They once had a magic all their own
Where every candle held the promise of a year unknown
and we were just lost in the power of packages and inches newly grown

Now I know the things that you gave up
