I wrote this song about my beloved father for his 50'th birthday as a thank you for all he has done for me (especially given up a career in music of his own to have a family).

Lyrics
Happy Birthday My Father
What worthy words could I say?
To duly express all the love in my heart
I could only mention that 50 has never looked so wonderful as it does today
Now what ever happened to birthdays?
They once had a magic all their own
Where every candle held the promise of a year unknown
and we were just lost in the power of packages and inches newly grown
Now I know the things that you gave up
Though I know you'd die before bringing them up
Just know your life is a lesson to those who've seen it in motion
and I have more praise in my heart
than a million fans ever could have around the globe
It's only a bright flash this lifetime
Gone in a blink and then we're dust
But sometimes I feel like a child again, caught up in the fear of it
What my life will be like when I have half a century of my own
So happy birthday my father
what worthy words could I have?
To duly express all the love in my heart
I could only mention that 50 has never looked so promising
50 has never looked so encouraging
50 has never looked so wonderful as it does today
