Story Behind The Song
This song still rings true for me - as I find that even at 24, I am often working to forge my own path while holding on to the parts of me that are at the foundation of who I am. I always start my concerts out with this old song, as I feel it is like a dear friend who travels with me and keeps me grounded.
Song Description
Written when I was 17 years old, it deals with the adolescent desire to forge your own way in life - and yet also your child-like desire to remain the same and hold onto what you know.

BLUEPRINTS
Verse 1
Gravity ?I?m tripping all over you
And our steps are crossing out of view
Our paths are turning thin
Hear me now ? there?s something in the air now
And I fear this alley you?ve brought me to
Will swallow me whole
But I?ve never seen them grieve
No I?ve never seen them grieve
Chorus
Where is the prototype I once embraced?
I?ve doused my body in the replica of all I used to hate
And I feel the tearing at my decency
I feel the grabbing at the blueprints that I?m clutching desperately
Verse 2
Stockpile these kisses, words and kinder deeds
There won?t be many more from me
Plenty less where that came from
Just back off - can?t you see the anguish here?
My body creeps along like mud and my tongue is saddened still
Chorus
Bridge
Just spit it out, just spit it out, just spit it out what you want to say
I haven?t got a lot of time to listen to you anyway
Or is it news to you that I?m not here today or any day
I left a while ago to find out where is home and how to pray
Chorus
No more proposals thanks I?m fine
Leave the blueprints to their design
