Story Behind The Song
When I was in Italy, I met a beautiful family expecting a baby. I performed in many concerts while touring there, but this newly wed couple just touched my heart in a way I cannot explain. I promised them I would write their baby a lullaby and sent it, and so 3 months after I returned to the states, I wrote "In the Arms of Italy" and sent it to them.

Lyrics
In The Arms Of Italy
The sun is heavy with the weight of all the worries in the world
It sinks beneath the sheet of night
Still you lay silent there, so young and unaware
So rest yourself tonight my sweet
In the arms of Italy
I swear each time I tuck you in
My wrinkles seem to fade away and grey hair turns to gold
Just looking at your face undoes my now spent days
I feel the flood of youth again
In a child of Italy
The sun is rising in the east; it?s stretching out its golden legs and arms
Ready for the day
You have begun to stir; you reach for light like flowers do
On the hills of Italy
You?ll ripen soon like berries do
On the lands of Italy
And until then you?ll be kept ever so close
Pressed up against the breast of me
So rest yourself today my sweet
In the arms of Italy
