Song Description
I really did meet a man in a laundry mat named Captain Jack and he did own 2 black cats...
all this really happened - so I wrote it into a song. One day I saw him again and told him about the song and it made him really happy to be honored like that. I was going to get him a copy but I never saw him again. Life brings us so many gifts in all the colorful people we meet and he was one for sure.
I still pray for Captain Jack.

																Lyrics

									Captain Jack
I remember Captain Jack with 2 black cats - reining King of the Laundry Mat.
He'd seen a little too much, he'd seen a little too much of life.
I wasn't sure what he was mumblin' about -
'til I heard some wisdom slip out.
He looked me in the eye and wouldn't look away.
Chorus:
And he asked me what was beautiful -
I thought of many answers but out of curiosity I asked him,
'Hey, what 's beautiful?"
And this is what he said, what he said to me
"Thinkin' about what's beautiful - is the very most beautiful thing you can do."
And I said, "I think that's true, Captain Jack."
I remember Captain Jack with 2 black cats.
He was stinkin' drunk in this laundry mat.
'Cause he lost his faith - he lost his faith in America.
He wore a politician's clothes yet it never did save his soul.
He says, "Sometimes democracy, well it's just hypocrisy."
Chorus:
Then he asked me what was powerful -
I thought of many answers
But out of curiosity I asked him
"Hey, what's powerful?"
And this is what he said, what he said to me
"Thinkin' about what's powerful is the very most powerful thing you can do." And I said, "I think that's true, Captain Jack."
Bridge:
Then he told me how he'd just buried a friend.
They'd seen it together through thick and thin.
How could he have left him to drink alone in the laundry mat they called home?
Saw I was getting ready to go
cause I picked up my bundle-a-clothes.
Chorus:
And he asked me what it means to do laundry yeah
Thought of many answers but out of curiosity well I asked him what it means to do laundry - And this is what he said, what he said to me. He said, "Doin' your laundry well it can wash your soul clean.. if ya know what I mean." And I said, "I think that's true, thanked him for his views told him I'd be back in week or two and I said to goodbye to Captain Jack.
