My older brother was the main inspiration for these lyrics. I love him but he has a tendency to complain about his circumstances, and never take the steps to really change them. These lyrics are a bit blunt and straight forward because I've tried sugar coating it, and it never changed anything. So I went for the "tough love" approach with this song. Talking about him being a push over or, as the lyrics say, a doormat, and that drinking your problems away is not a real solution. The lyrics talk about walking with Jesus as a real answer to his problems, and how he is not alone in his journey.
