As the ex-vocalist of Toronto band Woodrow, this dynamic front man draws from his experience as an actor, writer, painter, drummer and stand-up comedian. Though he lists Sting, The Police, Counting Crows, and Jeff Buckley as major musical influences, his energy and showmanship stem from an early infatuation with the 70's rock group KISS. When it comes to penning the words behind the music he cites more authors than vocalists for shaping his bittersweet, introspective take on the world, with lyrics that have been published as poems in literary magazines throughout Canada and the US. After playing drums for 12 years, Marqus made the transition to vocalist while at university. Together with musician Shane Anthony they formed the group Woodrow, releasing "In Brightness and Beauty" in 1998. "Small Town Oceans" (2001) marked his debut as a solo artist, followed by "These Machines are Perfect" (2002), "The Latest Version of Us" (2003) and most recently "On Standby To The World".
