Karmann Powell is a "genetic" musician who has performed from a very young age. Influenced by folk, country, gospel and bluegrass, Karmann's style is distinctly Americana. Her dynamic vocals set her apart from the crowd. She is a songwriter as well as an interpreter of others songs. Karmann was a founding board member of Fiddler's Dream Coffee House in Phoenix, AZ and performs there from time to time, as well as a variety of venues through out the state. She is currently the worship leader/music director at North Valley Christian Church (www.nvccphx.com) near Anthem, AZ.

Latest News

Joe Stopla on guitar and Darrell Stackhouse on drums has joined me and Joe Brokaw to form Karmann and Kompany. Things are really coming together and we look forward to our upcoming CD which will feature originals by me, Karmann Powell, as well as cover songs.

Morning Prayer

Morning Prayer is another collection of original gospel songs written by Karmann Powell and produced with her husband, Stan in their home studio. The songs have a strong country/bluegrass influence, but there are also a few surprises.

Fruit of the Spirit

Karmann Powell got her first guitar at the age of 10 and has made music ever since! After many years of playing a variety of venues in the Phoenix area, Karmann took a hiatus from the music scene to concentrate on other adventures. "Fruit of the Spirit" is her first completed CD.

Her style reflects the country/folk/bluegrass influences of her youth, combined with maturity and experience - a blessed combination!

Dear Karmann. Your I Don't Know You is too true. Why do women think they can change a man? Why do they always fall far the worst (perhaps because they are deceived by the Outer Trappings?) But women are strong, and have heart of the Lion. I am sending you a Friend request because (as you can tell from my No More) I know what it is like to be a woman. St. Nick

Thanks for listening to the song, Nick. I wanted to capture an emotion, a sense of betrayal, of someone at an emotional cross roads. I hope that's what came across. It arose from a bad divorce within our family. I listened to a couple of your songs. Very heart felt. Looking forward ot hearing more. kp

Karmann and Kompany, my 3 piece band, won the Mayer Daze Best Band Competition 5/14/2011. One of the judges said we sounded good, but the sound man (my husband) had things very nicely balanced. We're very pleased. The band consists of me on rhythm guitar and vocals, Joe Brokaw on 5-string bass and Don Hootman on lead guitar. Don has only been playing with us for about 3 months and it still hasn't even heard all the songs I do. This award bodes well for the future of Karmann and Kompany.
