With off the hook beats and lyrics about everyday life and struggles, the group has lived by the philosophy of always making quality music that every individual can feel. Kaoz (Producer/MC) started the group during his high school years with his best friend Spliff (MC) and the two have continued to make music throughout the years. KAOTIC prides itself on staying innovative and making music that has never been heard.

From the underground lookin up, KAOTIC has made a name for itself in the Austin area performing for several local venues with many open mic and freestyle performances with aspirations of one day making it to the top of the music world. Kaotic Bio

Background/History of Group:

Kaotic is an underground rap/hip hop group from Austin, Texas. Kaotic was founded by two childhood friends, Michael Stites aka "Kaoz" (Producer/MC) and Charlie Holleman aka "Spliff" (MC). The two became interested in hip hop at a young age and began making music together for fun when they were in middle school dubbing themselves with the group name Cash Flow. During this time, the two would use Mario Paint for their drums, a keyboard, and a karaoke machine to record the voices. Kaoz and Spliff began to appear in public venues at an early age, starting with performing at school talent shows. The group has evolved over time as they have made songs together in their spare time for nearly two decades. As time passed and technology improved, the home studio of Kaoz used by the group improved as well. Kaotic currently features the following home studio software to make their tracks: Cakewalk, Reason and Sound Forge. Shortly after Kaoz and Spliff graduated from high school, the group decided to change their name to Kaotic and have continued to make songs and perform together. One of Kaotic's favorite methods of creating is getting together and rapping freestyle. Through the years the group has perfected the art. Kaotic has also performed live at many local Austin venues including Emo's, Ruta Maya, Karma Lounge, Firehouse Lounge and the group also opened up for SwishaHouse (Slim Thug) at Gordo's in San Marcos, Texas. Additionally, Kaotic has also made many underground mix-tapes and CDs which they have distributed and sold throughout Austin. The group has received very positive feedback on the music they have continued to produce.

What makes Kaotic different/distinct from other hip hop groups:

Kaotic brings a distinct sound through their beats and production. The fruits of their labor are always hypnotizing, distinct, and ahead of their time. Kaoz has extensive experience making beats and producing as he has been experimenting, learning, and excelling in the art since the group was in middle school during the early 90's. Kaotic as a group brings a distinct rapping style to their performances whether live or in the studio. Many who hear their work say they hear the influences of groups such as Three Six Mafia, Outkast, Twista, and Bone Thugs N Harmony. It is taken as a great compliment as these groups have been huge influences on Kaotic's sound along with many other great artists and groups. Kaotic has perfected its craft of rapping over the years and the lyrics of the group are always about real life issues that each individual can relate to. Of course the group still finds a way with their style and hooks to make songs that are commercially appealing to not only listeners of hip hop, but of any genre. Kaotic prides itself on staying innovative with their music to make each track distinct and not the same old thing over and over. Through the years many people who have witnessed Kaotic have come away impressed by the sound and depth the group displays. Some people are also surprised after hearing the lyrics and style of Kaotic to discover the group consists of white rappers. Regardless, Kaotic has always been about creating and delivering a great product.
