Receiving the Oscar Peterson scholarship at Berklee Music College in Boston helped to propel this keyboardists love for jazz . Composing Jazz , Pop and Classical music is his forte, having mostly his jazz compositions published with major Music Companies. In 1995, Johns contemporary jazz band "Mood Swing", based in NYC, was signed to Cats Paw Records Jazz label and he wrote most of the music for their debut album "Very Little Steps" in 1995. Jazz Times magazine called it an "Interesting and Captivating outing" .Playing the Hartford Jazz Festival with Tito Puente, David Valentine and Hilton Ruiz was truly the highlight of his career and focuses now on writing jazz and electronic music for tv and film with credits on ABC's "One Life to Live" and "Two Girls and a Guy".
