Anotherology, I just listened to your track Gatika. Great production ideas on this track and nice vibe overall. I can relate to your comment about doing some other styles just to get them out of your system. Sometimes you just have to go with those urges to write in some other styles and see what comes of it. Great job!

Thanks Jim - I've been lucky enough to be able to take some time off work. My intention was to re-visit my classical tracks and try and get them to the next level, but 6-7 weeks in and school holidays and other distractions have been hampering that idea (chuck some procrastination and self doubt into that mix too if I'm honest).
Hoping that a couple of different tracks will flush my system and I can get back to looking at old tracks, but I must admit, I really don't enjoy the final production stage, and I'm not very good at it.
What part of the production (if anything) do you outsource ?
Loved your new tracks too BTW - congrats on the No1 slot !

Thanks so much Matt! I'd like to do as you are doing and re-visit some older tracks and improve them. I have too much fun working on new stuff though. There are so many things I want to get better at. I wish there were more hours in the day and that those free hours were ones where I had more energy. So far I've not been outsourcing any of my production tasks, and doing everything myself. I know that I could improve my skills at the final mastering stage. It's probably one area that I should outsource but always felt that I should know as much as I could about each stage so that I could be self reliant. I should outsource my mastering though, at some point. Enjoy the time off! By the way I think your classical stuff sounds great. I too would like to improve my skills in doing the orchestral stuff. There's a whole world of sounds in the orchestra that I want to learn how to use. This is what keeps it fun, always more to learn.

Are you familiar with EWQL libraries ? They have a great one called Rare Audio which has loads of interesting (and rare in the west at least) instruments.

I have the EWQL Symphonic Orchestra and I love it. It's probably my favorite library other than my stuff from Spectrasonics, which I also love. I'll check out that Rare Audio library. Sounds cool! By the way, I've been searching for a good library for vibes (with tremolo), Celeste, and other mallet instrument sounds. Do you have any recommendations?

I use Cubase, and both Padshop and HALion Sonic have nice Vibe sounds. I also have quite a few of Native Instruments products, and Massive has a nice Vibe (as does the Korg Wavestation), but EWQL's Goliath has a Mallet selection and a nice celeste sound among them...

Thanks so much for adding some of my songs to one of your playlists. I am very impressed with your work and inspired when I listen to your tracks. Fantastic composing and arranging work in all of your tracks. You should be scoring films!

Wow ! Praise indeed ! Broadjam has a real mix of talents, and when I hear tracks like yours I'm equally impressed, inspired but also a little humbled (and a little jealous if I;m honest). Your track "The Lost Dutchman Trail" has two musical elements I love, and have yet to include in any of my own compositions - the harmonica and whistling... it's one of those tracks that make me think "Darn, i wish I'd written that!"

Hi Floris - thankyou - i listened to some of your tracks and you've got a good sound - and like me, you also have a quite diverse set too. Makes it difficult to target audiences i find. Thanks for the compliment, and please accept mine to you too ! Regards Matt

Thanks Dave... I wrote it for my wife (Vanessa - if you hadn't guessed !). How ever did you stumble on it ? I've not submitted to anything recently (pretty much gave up), but maybe I'll give it one more try thanks to your possitive comments !
