About SD Production

Boy Girl Records and SD Productions, were created by muso's Daz and Esdee, who are both the brains, and the creatives behind the Company.
Between them, they sing, write, and produce and have in excess of 20 years experience in the music industry. They have been commissioned to write for and with many successful artists including Javine Hylton, Matthew Parkhouse, Sean Sergeant and K-Groove and have combined credits, which include 2 top ten UK hits and have collaborated with many established producers/writers.

Daz and Esdee both developed a love for music at a very young age with Daz’s parent’s already successful musicians in the 70’s-80’s and Esdee performing for the 1st time at just 4 years old. By the time they were each 18, they had both been signed independently by music management and Record Companies as artists/writers in their own rights and had begun to form their own experiences of the music industry.

Both still young and naïve they each continued to study their trade, Daz concentrating on writing/production and Esdee on singing/writing until years later (and a couple of disappointing experiences) they met in completely non-musical circumstances. Seeing incredible potential in one another, they started to work together learning from one another and developing further their skills. They started to become an unbreakable team and realised that the music that was being created was different from anything else going on in the UK music industry, and what’s more…people seemed to like it!

Daz’s heavy quirky style of writing/production teamed with Esdee’s more gently melancholy approach made every track they wrote/produced more exciting and unique than the last. They were writing everything from Pop to Rock to Funk to RnB but the one thing that linked all the tracks to one another was the distinctive sounds of Daz’s incredible production technique.

Daz had by this time formed his own independent label called AKO Records and decided that they were going to go public and test the water with their 1st track in 2001 which was called “Your Lovin” and featured UK rapper Iceberg Slim.

The track was pre-released and given no hype or marketing yet it went straight in at number 23 in the UK commercial charts competing with some of the biggest majors just on the strength of the music.

The track also hit number 8 in the top 10 breakers chart and was given top reviews in various music publications including Blues and Soul, IDJ and Music Week Magazine. This only went to prove further that they were heading in the right direction musically but they realised that there was a limit to where you could go without having finances in place to push the music to its peak.

Both partners decided that they needed to return to full time work in order to raise the funds to push their musical careers to where they needed to be and push the projects themselves. With admirable will, they returned to work, and spent every spare moment in the studio preparing and mastering their skills for the launch of their own production company SD Productions and their new innovative label called Boy Girl.

Now 2007, and still as strong a team as they ever were, Daz and Esdee have Created Boy Girl which they hope to be a massive force in the UK Music Industry supporting, developing and releasing great talent and making their mark with their distinctive sound and strong songs…

They are due to release their first track “Don’t Touch” in August, which has already generated major support and holds high hopes for the future of both Esdee and Daz, and the label Boy Girl.
