Michael Collison composes, records, and performs original music for film, TV, and general listening.

Michael Collison's Bio

Michael Collison is a composer and pianist/keyboardist. He is classically trained, plays by ear, and is proficient playing classic rock, alternative rock, classical (Chopin being a favorite), and new age.

He performs a mix of cover tunes and original music, often blending rock and new age into dynamic keyboard performances.

Michael has recently begun writing and recording soundtracks and underscores, with an occasional rock tune "for good measure." Several of these are available on this website, including:

"Road Trip" - original rock instrumental.

"Movie Song" - conceived as a potential score/soundtrack for a film or TV production. It is available to potential productions as-is or with on-spec customization, but it can also be listened to as a contiguous stand-alone song in the New Age genre.

"Movie Song Reprise" - a follow-on to its predecessor.

"FISH Soundtrack" - underscore for the short film, FISH, which won "Best International Film" in 2012 Malibu Film Festival and "Best Short Film" in 2012 Belize International Festival.

Movie Song: Wow. Fantastic work. I can tell you put a lot of time into this! And, yes, I listened to the entire 11:24 (the last 10 sec or so were silent). I loved the mood change around 6:20 and again at 7:28. I also loved the change at 8:00. It had an "Arabian" sound to it. I agree that this song could be listened to as one contiguous piece, but I can also see how it could be broken up. During my listen I thought of various movie scenes that this song could be used in to convey the mood. Ever seen "American Beauty" with Kevin Spacey? There were times I thought of the scene with the Rose petals falling onto the girl, but there were also times when the song actually conveyed a sort of sad tone and other times an angry one. All in all a wonderful piece of work that should be getting many more reviews than it has currently received. Keep on doing what you're doing!

Thanks for the positive comments, especially after my Simon Cowell-esque critiques!

Road Trip: Great job on this. Makes me want to jump in my car and just tear up the blacktop. I thought you did a nice job incorporating all of the different sounds into this tune. It kept it bumping and avoided the "stale sound" a lot of songs get plagued with. Loved it...all the way to the end. Keep on doing what you're doing!
