D.G. Phillips

Haunted by the other-worldly new sounds of Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin, and Duane and Dickie from the Allman Brothers; D.G. knew he'd found the path he'd follow. With a guitar never far away, he listened to and soaked up as much of this style of music as he could find.
He studied classical guitar in college to get a grasp on music theory; but, the rock and roll side wouldn't leave him alone.
Playing with several local cover band favorites like Aardvark, the Fantastic A-Oks, and the Thaddeus Jasper Band, he developed his skills as a powerful blues vocalist and guitarist. But, the yearning to write and play his own music led him to form his own band, the Glenn Phillips Band to record and perform his original songs. Sadly, the other members of the band didn't share his vision, and he became disillusioned with the way things were going, so when the chance to join the Rose Hill Band came along, he set aside his dreams, and jumped in.
The Rose Hill Band became an incredible adventure in learning and playing that was a highlight of his musical career. Loved by critics and fans alike, Rose Hill soon became the band of choice as the opening act for a local rock show club that was bringing in bands like the Marshall Tucker Band, the Outlaws, Foghat, Edgar Winter, Blackfoot, and the list goes on.
Two albums were recorded in Macon, Georgia at Phoenix Sound Studios; (formerly known as Capricorn Studios).
After 17 years together, Rose Hill calls it guits, and D.G. is finally recording his solo album In a Minor Funk in his own RedRoom Studio.
