OK so commercial radio is mogul-manipulated and predictable you groan. Where is the variety you scream! Where is the depth? Presenting Wokepoets:

"A BOTTOMLESS BARREL OF MUSICAL EAR-CANDY!" Is how one fan describes Dale Lawrence and his talented ensemble. Others rave about the depth and sensitivity of their lyrics and compare them favorably to...dare we say - Bob Seger? Bob Marley? Bob Dylan??! Ahem...clearly they have a thing for the Bobs.

Dale also cites Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Sting and Tom Petty among his principal influences. He includes Caribbean song-smiths, The Mighty Sparrow and David Rudder. The latter pair may be virtually unknown to larger world audiences but their unique styles of story telling genius were inspirational during his early years.

But while lyricist, Dale Lawrence often waxes to the philosophical, sweet memorable melodies and toe-tapping grooves are never far from his mind. Music, Message, Melody - That is the mission!

Dale, excellent song with "Romeo." Art rock and commercial...yes on both points. I have sometimes said of the great songs before the 1990s, they just don't write 'em like that anymore. Well, you're an exception and you're keepin' the faith! Best to you.
