Aural Elixir is a lyrical, multi-genre concept deeply inspired by the rich musical textures of New Orleans. Aural Elixir was established in New Orleans in 1996 by eclectic singer-songwriter-pianist Jesse Holt. She is classically trained in piano & voice, however it was the influences of Jazz, Frank Zappa, Joni Mitchell & New Orleans that inspired Jesse to experiment with songwriting. Her broad appreciation of all styles of music fueled the creative fire for her signature concoction of jazz, rock, folk, soul, funk, latin, blues, comedy and roots music to be born and aptly named Aural Elixir.
