"Impressive...unique and inspired." (All Music Guide)

Devon Copley and Alex Wong became the Animators in 2002, beginning as a bicoastal duo with a rotating cast of guest musicians. Citing as influences the songwriting and arrangements of Simon & Garfunkel and the Postal Service, and with a talent for melody recalling Nada Surf, they swiftly became favorites in the singer-songwriter scene on both coasts. Wong joined Copley in Brooklyn and they opened Angelhouse East Studios in 2004. Bassist Phil Galitzine signed on in 2003 and drummer Kevin Rice in 2004. The group has shared stages with the likes of Norah Jones, the Bravery, Gavin DeGraw, and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah. Their songs have been featured on MTV's The Real World, Miramax's Comic Book: The Movie, and on independent radio nationwide. They are recently returned from an Asian tour -- headlining a festival in Singapore -- and will release their sophomore album, How We Fight, on their own Angelhouse imprint on April 4.
