Story Behind The Song
"Cataclysm" is for every man who hates his domineering girlfriend but who hasn't the strenght or support of his peers to escape her.
Song Description
From a visual perspective, to put an exact scene behind the song - I picture a couple out for drinks with friends. He is very numb and emotional detached/indifferent because the relationship that he has is completely dominated by her. She tells embarrassing stories about him, she condescends him, she makes him look bad. He, simply sits there and takes it, completely exhausted from having to defend himself every single time. He's given up, and the song is his inner dialogue to himself.

Lyrics
I would light you on fire
If I could be sure it wouldn't kill you
Just to make you aware
Just to make you aware....
Don't get me wrong, I'm not into torture
It's not so much that I'd be trying to hurt you
Just to make myself clear
I'd never want to make you how you've made me feel
If I could somehow make you go away
The embers in me smouldering might start to grey
Cataclysm is the word that comes to mind
As what it would take to make me feel alright
You keep going on and on and on and on....
About this and that and how could I
And of all the disrespect
And of all the disrespect
You got it right, I'm awful quiet
But it's not so much that I don't have anything to say
You're articulate enough to speak for both of us
So I don't need to call you a bitch
