(That's) Good Love

Story Behind The Song

Bill Ritchie and I had made arrangements for a writing session. We met over at the ASCAP offices and he played some guitar chords. I took notes as to what popped into my head and sung the first verse and pre-chorus with a melody idea. I finished writing it and emailed him copy. He finished out the guitar and melody and that was that. It was a quick song to write.

Lyrics

In the morning, rolling outta bed
Without warning you pull me back again

Baby that?s good love, baby that?s real good love
You and me got a real good love

Good love holds its head up high
It?s got your back and it won?t deny you anything
that your little heart desires
Good love walks with you side by side
It?s a warm wet kiss on a cold dark night
Oh, baby that?s good love

In the afternoon, sun?s spread ?cross the room
We?re dancing to ?Blue Bayou? and we?re floatin? on air

Baby that?s good love, baby that?s real good love
You and me got a real good love

Good love lives deep in your heart
And it stays with you no matter where you are
no matter how far
It?s a deep down promise that never lies
It?s a long slow kiss when you say goodnight
Oh, baby that?s good love

In the evening it?s a bottle of wine
Sweet and tender, we take our time

Good love walks with you side by side
It?s that warm wet kiss on a cold dark night
Oh, baby that?s good love
You and me got a real good love
